Niykee is still writing songs despite having been swept up in the recent chaos. She was hand-picked to be part of the YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. Songwriting is an inspiration to aspiring producers. Niykee listens constantly to beats and discovers many which spark thoughts. "I'll be able to discern within the first 5 seconds if it's a good beat. Once I've a tune in my mind and I begin to write right away." I get the words whenever I'm outside on the deck, playing guitar. Usually it takes less than 30 minutes. Niykee says that as she grows as a lyricist, the painful memories of her youth serve as inspiratoin. It's difficult to escape the painful memories of my childhood, and especially the loss of my sister. The memories end up getting integrated into her music. This influences my music and helps to create this greater significance behind everything that is among the most significant things for me. I want to be able to say that I can listen to any one of my music 20 years down the road and be proud of what I wrote.
